The Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), in conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, invites you to participate in a one-day Dam Owner Workshop in either Lincoln or North Platte, Nebraska. Specific location details will be sent to registered attendees.
The workshop is designed to provide practical, straightforward information on topics of importance to dam owners and those with an interest in dams. The purpose of the one-day workshop is to provide education/information on the following topics:
- State Dam Safety Laws and Regulations
- Extreme Storm Events
- Common Problems and Why Dams Fail
- Owner Responsibilities and Liability
- Operation and Maintenance
- Safety Inspections
- Emergency Action Plans
- Funding for Dam Repairs
- When and How to Hire a Professional Engineer
The registration cost for the workshop is $20 per person. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Attendees must pre-register for the workshop by October 15, 2024. Late or walk-in registrations will not be accepted.
The workshop will start at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm Central Time. Information will be available throughout the day and you will have the opportunity to meet and network with your state dam safety officials and other dam owners. You will receive electronic access to course materials.
