Using MARS software the ground classified LIDAR points are used to create an ESRI binary floating-point file (.flt/.hdr) . The cell size is 1 meter. Nebraska Department of Natural Resources produced 2 meter resolution ESRI rasters by resampling 1 meter ESRI rasters (provided by NRCS). Using ESRI software the .flt/.hdr files are exported to an ERDAS .img file. These files are created for each of the 17 counties involved.
These were created to provided the partners with an additional format for the LIDAR data that requires less storage.
Two foot interval contour generation One meter raster data ESRI .flt/.hdr, ESRI grids, ERDAS .img formats LAS data came from 3 projects NIROC, NRCS_Eastern_Nebraska and Prairie Creek NIROC flown April 16, 2010 - April 28, 2010 NRCS_Eastern_Nebraska flown Nov 9, 2010 - April 9, 2011 Prairie Creek flown April 8, 2010 - April 28, 2010 The original LAS data was in Horizontal: UTM, Zone 14, NAD83, units meters Vertical: NAVD88, units meters. The vertical was changed to NAVD88, units feet for alll of the deliverable products

Verification of attribute accuracy of LIDAR data involves the use of filtering techniques. Auto-filtering uses algorithms to reclassify data in the point cloud. Hand-filtering involves the use of a technician working in a graphic environment to reclassify the erroneous points that may remain in the LIDAR point cloud after auto filter.
Calibrations of the LIDAR flightline data are performed; this process is known as boresighting. The flightlines are compared to evaluate both their relative and absolute accuracies.
This dataset contains unclassified returns of the LIDAR sensor. The sensor data was verified in MARS software to ensure complete coverage.
